Epic Summer Road Trip – Corona {part one}

We spent five days in Corona and it was SO nice to have the break from constantly moving on to the next place. We took it pretty easy. On our first day, the kids played with “uncle” Brian’s pets (particularly Toby the dog, since the cats hid under the bed for the whole five days. They were obsessed with Toby’s dog house and played in it everyday.

In the afternoon, we headed out to Seal Beach to visit Josh’s grandparents. They’re getting up there in age, but they always love to see the kids and they always have a smile on their faces. The kids counted and sorted Grandma’s coins, Lia looked for Grandpa’s “cat”, and they all watched Grandpa do his magic tricks. One of these days, they’ll totally get the quarter-behind-the-ear trick, but for now, it’s awesome to watch them shriek with delight when the quarter appears magically!

We had dinner with Grandma and Grandpa and then headed down to Bolsa Chica Beach for a bonfire with lots of friends (huge thanks to Mary for hosting!). This was our first beach bonfire and the kids were so excited! Max and Ava just had to go down to splash in the waves. I told them not to get soaked, but as you can imagine, they weren’t able to do that. They both came back up to the fire pit completely soaked. We warmed ourselves around the fire and made s’mores. The kids got tired, so I left early with them.

    1. My kids would love the dog house too.
    2. That is a HUGE sandwich.
    3. Maybe you could keep some potato sacks with you in case the kids start acting like crazed bunny rabbits in a restaurant again. Thoughts???
